A few weeks ago our P7 pupils entered a competition set by The Housing Executive partnered with Eco Schools NI. They were required to design and describe a local Eco Hero under one of the following categories: Energy Efficiency; Water; Renewables vs. Fossil Fuels; Climate Action and Global Perspectives. All of our pupils submitted excellent entries and we received the fantastic new that we had two winners out of 443 entries!
We are delighted to announce that Méabh came first in her category and Conor came in the top 13 and got highly commended.
Méabh has won a personal laptop, £500 for our school, a tree to plant at our school and Méabh’s Eco-hero will be captured by the illustrator that created Max Chi our Eco character.
Conor won an Amazon Fire Tablet and a tree to plant at our school.
Méabh attended the awards ceremony along with her mammy in St Dominic's Grammar School Belfast last Wednesday and had a wonderful day.
Congratulations Méabh and Conor we are all very proud of you and well done to all of our P7 pupils on your wonderful entries, many of which reached the top 75 for short listing.
