Latest COVID 19 Guidance - 10/09/21
PHA has updated its advice to parents, pupils and the school community. From 10th September, the Public Health Agency will manage contact tracing of a confirmed COVID case with parental help. Close contacts will no longer be the whole class but may instead be close friends and family only. School will no longer be required to contact trace.
Parents are still encouraged to inform school of a positive Covid case so that the pupil's absence can be correctly recorded. If the child who tested positive had been at school in the previous 48 hours, parents of children in their class will receive a text to ask them to read the 'warn and inform' letter from PHA. This letter is attached below. The letter reminds parents to be vigilant and to remember the steps we should all take to minimise transmission of Covid 19.
In school, we continue to reduce transmission risk as much as possible. The Chief Medical Officer Michael McBride has written to parents and the school community to explain the reasons for this change in approach. Please read this letter. It is hoped that these new changes will result in less disruption to pupils' education in 2021-22.
Thank you so much for your continued support and co-operation.
