Mrs Jamison's Retirement Celebrations
After 33 years of teaching in St Mary's PS Altinure, Mrs Jamison has earned a well deserved retirement. A special mass was held in St Mary's Church Altinure on Wednesday 20th June followed by refreshments in the Parish Hall. It was to see such a large congregation, consisting of many past pupils and parents, which was a true reflection of the impact that Mrs Jamison has had on the lives of many in Altinure.
An assembly for Mrs Jamison was held in the school on Friday 22nd June, where pupils provided great entertainment by singing, dancing and performing a sketch of 'A day in the school life of Mrs Jamison.' Again there was a huge crowd in attendance: pupils; parents; present and past colleagues of Mrs Jamison; representatives from CCMS, EA and Derry Diocesan Catechetical Centre and Mrs Jamison's friends and family.
Heartfelt speeches were delivered by Terese Ferry (Derry Diocesan Catechetical Centre), Mr O'Kane ( former Principal) and Mrs Redmond ( Principal). Mrs Jamison gave a moving speech at the end, talking about her many great memories of her time at Altinure.
Mrs Jamison will be greatly missed at Altinure and we wish her the very best for her Retirement.
