Primary 5 had a fantastic time at Butterlope Farm today. We learnt about the various breeds of sheep, made clay models of sheep and spun wool with Lynn using a spindle. We loved Leo telling us all about farm implements from the 1950s and we made a rope using spun straw. We identified trees and plants in the hedgerows and learnt about houses from long ago. We even took samples from the river and identified the mini beasts we found! Thank you to Vincent and Annie for such a warm welcome. Who knew farming could be such fun?
