Potato Digging in P7
1st Oct 2021
As part of their topic ‘Hunger’, our P7 pupils familiarised themselves with the poem ‘Digging’ by Seamus Heaney. They then enjoyed digging up the potatoes from our school vegetable plot with Olive and sampling the staple diet in Ireland during the 1800s of boiled potatoes and butter . The boys and girls agreed that the potatoes were absolutely delicious. A few pupils even decided that if the potatoes were that tasty, it would be no bother eating them for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day! 😄
