Updated COVID 19 Regulations
It is important to remain vigilant to limit the transmission of COVID 19 in our community. Regulations have changed recently and may be subject to change again.
Current PHA and DE guidance states that, as before, if a pupil has a positive PCR test result, he/she must isolate at home for 10 days. School must also be informed as soon as possible so that close contacts can be identified and informed.
If a pupil has been identified as a close contact, the pupil must stay at home and take a PCR test as soon as possible. If the PCR result is negative, he/she can return to school but must be retested by PCR test on Day 8. The pupil can attend school on Day 8 and get a test after school if this suits better. He/she can also attend school on Day 9 until the result is received. However, if the result is positive, self isolation is immediately required for 10 days.
FROM 10TH SEPTEMBER, PHA WILL MANAGE THE IDENTIFICATION OF CLOSE FRIENDS OF A POSITIVE CASE AND PROVIDING ADVICE. WHOLE CLASS GROUPS MAY NO LONGER NEED TO BE TESTED.
WE AWAIT UPDATED GUIDANCE.
We strongly recommend lateral flow testing on the days in between to minimise transmission rates.
The flowchart which has been attached will be updated in the coming days! We appreciate your support in these rapidly changing times!
